Edit: been a few times and everything just keeps getting better! First time visiting the venue which is very smart and well spaced, there won't be any accidental elbow touching here. We went for the afternoon tea, which was massive and to be fair, very tasty. The scotch egg and sausage roll were great and the chicken and quiche also very good. After getting beyond those I was struggling! With three puds it was clear I would never be able to finish it all. I ate the scone which was pretty good. Not the best, but decent. The brownie and lemon posset had to come home with me in a box! Overall it was very enjoyable, although I'm not sure we can really call it an afternoon tea! In my opinion, they could easily have removed the chicken and posset and added in a small finger sandwich or two. The result would still be a very non-traditional afternoon tea, but it might have been close enough to call it one. There really should at least be a nod to cucumber somewhere in there Edit: paid another visit and went for regular menu items. The meal was lovely, a bit different and still generously sized. At lunchtime, with three of us eating, none of us actually managed to polish of our meal! The star of the show was the Thai curry, probably about as good as it gets outside an actual Thai restaurant

It's a very nice place. The food was of a high quality, the service was fast, the wait for food was very minimal, and the decor was nice. It's a bit pricey, but I assure you the food quality is reflected by this. The picture here is the white wine and chicken pasta which comes with a garlic ciabatta.

Booked here last minute after another place cancelled on us. It was my birthday lunch whilst on holiday in the area. So glad they did as this place was far superior. Really friendly staff, great menu and food with a really good vibe. Loads of room around tables and dog friendly. Parked in Tesco free for 2 hours.

We booked for a meal on a Saturday night. Original for 4 adults but a late addition with a 7 year old due to child care arrangements. No problem in changing booking and all reserved and confirmed via the website. We ordered drinks first, which swiftly came. Next mains ordered. We didn’t go for a starter. Although the menu is online we did have a special sheet. I ordered off the main menu and wasn’t disappointed at all. It was just the right amount and the beef was very moist with excellent presentation. In fact all our dishes were amazing. We decided to order deserts and what can I say but just divine. The sticky toffee pudding is too die for. Literally melts in your mouth. All in all we worth the cost and highly recommended

Finally (after a year of him bugging me) tried The Peddlar one Saturday lunchtime - and been back twice more since! Saturday lunch visit, hadn't booked, sat in bar area. Timed it well as within 20 or so minutes, staff were having to turn people away as no tables left. Service was good, food was amazing! I had the mighty marra burger (omg, I only ate half and gave the other half to him!), He had the feather blade steak and prawns (might have been surf n turf). Steak just melted in your mouth, prawns were enormous. Twice cooked chips were yummy. (Pics are of the lunch visit). Booked for a Saturday night couple of weeks later, service good but a bit slower than the lunchtime had been. We both had steak - chef did a cracking job on my medium/well-done but his medium was much better. Twice cooked chips again but they were different from the previous time and not quite as yummy. He is so impressed with the food we were back the next morning for breakfast! Cooked brekkies all round and again, no fault to be found. It's definitely on our list now, probably top choice for eating out. Hits the spot for me for menu choices (he eats owt, I'm the fussy one), uses locally sourced food and has soya milk for my tea. That's a winner right there. Worth checking the menu regularly as I'm sure they change the food choices - I've looked previously and thought there's nothing on there I'll eat but right now there's loads.
